Rudolph the Polled Holstein


Facts about Rudolph and Polled
  • Rudolph was different. Polled is different.
  • Big Kids laughed and called him names Big kids like to discount the value of polled.
  • Would not let him play in Reindeer Games. Proven sires is the big kid game and polled bulls were not widely used so have not reached that status.
  • Santa is an Early Adaptor, Santa realized being different could have advantages! The early adaptors in polled have realized advantages.
  • Rudolph's Red Glow could help him see through the fog. Polled helps solve problems of Pain, Labour and Image.
  • All the other Reindeer's were Sceptical, Rudolph's red nose had never been proven. Genomics is levelling the playing field revealing polled is comparable
  • Santa did not listen to the Sceptics he put Rudolph in the most important position the front of the sleigh. The breeders who breed their best animals to polled will be leaders.
  • Rudolph became an overnight sensation. Today polled females are bringing premium prices, and popular polled bulls are in high demand
  • The big kids did not laugh at Rudolph anymore. Big kids are not laughing at polled.
  • All of the other Reindeer wished they had a red nose that glowed but it was not a dominant trait. We are in luck. Polled is a dominant trait.
    In time the majority of the Holstein breed will be polled. The consumer will demand it.
